Our Christmas Tree
I forgot about this ornament until Joel showed it to me. Christmas memories with Grandma instantly flooded my mind and I could not help the tears from welling up in my eyes.How much we miss Grandma, but how happy we are that she is well this Christmas and celebrating with our Lord and Grandpa in Heaven.
Merry Christmas from our family to yours!

And we’re back!
Unfortunately, late last month our family computer crashed, and we have yet to retrieve a few months of data from off the hardrive (if we are even able to do so); hence, the reason for no activity on our blog. But please know that even though our blog has lacked activity, our lives have been busy! So, hang on to your seats while we attempt to catch up!
Happy birthday to our October birthday recipients: Dad and Nathaniel! We thank the Lord for Dad and Nate and all they are to our family. We love you both!
We enjoyed celebrating their birthdays with the whole family.
The newest addition to our extended family, Hudson Taylor Wesco, was born and is a cutie to be sure!

Happy brothers!
Mid November our Church hosted a Ladies’ Fellowship. It was a special evening of sharing, music, delicious food, and fellowship. Fellowship Baptist Church is the sending church of missionary Jan Whetstone who was our speaker and spoke on letting your light shine in this dark world. Special thanks to so many ladies of the church that put hard work and planning into the evening. It was an evening enjoyed by all!
And finally, we enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving Day at our Grandparents’ home with the Walter extended family. Ruth, Tim, Nate and I enjoyed assisting Grandma and Grandpa in cleaning, decorating, setting up tables and chairs, and cooking the day before the celebration. The best part of Thanksgiving for the four of us is getting to spend that time with our grandparents. We love you, Grandma and Grandpa!
So, we squeezed nearly sixty people into our grandparents’ ranch home! Some came right at 3 o’clock for dinner, and others came sometime thereafter.

(As you can see, it was rather difficult to capture a proper picture of this table.)

Grandma didn’t want to name this table “the old peoples’ table” so we came up with “the young at heart table”!

We are truly thankful for the many bountiful blessings from our Lord! Friends, don’t forget to count your blessings!
“When upon life’s billows you are tempest tossed, when you are discouraged thinking all is lost, count your many blessings-- name them one by one, and it will surprise you what the Lord hath done." Lyrics from hymn: Count your blessings

The Will of God

The will of God will never take you,
Where the grace of God cannot keep you,
Where the arms of God cannot support you,
Where the riches of God cannot supply your needs,
Where the power of God cannot endow you.
The will of God will never take you,
Where the Spirit of God cannot work through you,
Where the wisdom of God cannot teach you,
Where the army of God cannot protect you,
Where the hands of God cannot mold you.
The will of God will never take you,
Where the love of God cannot enfold you,
Where the mercies of God cannot sustain you,
Where the peace of God cannot calm your fears,
Where the authority of God cannot overrule for you.
The will of God will never take you,
Where the comfort of God cannot dry your tears,
Where the Word of God cannot feed you,
Where the miracles of God cannot be done for you,
Where the omnipresence of God cannot find you.

Hog Roast at the Hicks
This past Saturday the Hicks family hosted a hog roast at their home. There was so much going on that I didn’t have a chance to capture pictures of everything! The guys enjoyed playing football and target shooting with their hunting bows. The kids enjoyed the hay rides (and the adults for that matter) and the swing set. And some of us girls enjoyed just talking and taking a leisure walk through the woods when the tire on the hay cart went flat.
The chicken, lamb, pork, side dishes, baked apples and hot apple cider were exceptionally delicious. Furthermore, singing around the fire at dusk was especially meaningful. Fall is a wonderful time of year to gather together and thank the Lord for His many provisions and blessings to our families. Thy name, Lord, be ever praised!

The chalk talk by Luke Hicks clearly presented the gospel (it’s blurry because I didn’t want to be disruptive and use my flash).
We were glad to see several guests! Many other acquaintances and friends were invited who were unable to come. Thank you, Fellowship, for your faithfulness in reaching out. Keep praying!
Thank you, Hicks family, for a great evening!
Come, ye thankful people, come, raise the song of harvest home;
All is safely gathered in, ere the winter storms begin;
God, our Maker, doth provide for our wants to be supplied;
Come to God’s own temple, come, raise the song of harvest home.
